Gaining More in 2024 – Here’s to a Healthier You!
Regarding goal setting, I always thought of New Year’s Day as just another day in our individual timelines. With that mindset, I didn’t have this immense pressure to implement some mega unrealistic New Year’s resolution goal with undefined steps to achieve it.
What motivates you to change? If you think about it, ANY given day allows you to hit the do-over-button, and change your mindset and your organizing methods! Being intentional about small changes in behavior still yields big returns and longer-term results!
I deeply studied this concept this past year and saw how it impacted my life and the clients I coach. Here are some small ways to gain significantly more in 2024:
Healthy Eating Starts with Fridge Organization
- Mini-Goal: sort and sanitize just one
- Grab Clorox wipes and your Brother label maker. If you don’t own one, here’s a popular past post :https://wurthorganizing.com/5-ways-a-label-maker-will-change-your-life-forever/. A Sharpie and masking tape are a handy substitute for now. Wipe out, reorganize and label just the top shelf.
- Got more mojo? Complete another shelf or drawer. Recruit (or bribe with food) other family members to help.
- Some common food categories: beverages, lunches, salad making, recipe making, condiments, and dressings.
- Show the new fridge system to everyone in your household.
- Repeat the above steps for Freezer Organization. My recent IG post is a handy visual Fridge and Freezer Organization.
Stress Reduction & Weight Loss Starts with Movement
- Mini-Goal: Move more each day in a variety of ways while drinking water.
- Identify 3 easy workouts that interest you and not overwhelm you.
- Some creative ideas are:
- Walk to complete errands vs. driving.
- Listen to a podcast, audiobook or watch a movie while on an exercise machine.
- Take a new class even if you have no idea what you’re doing! Invite a friend to join but commit to going whether they join you or not.
- Have a designated daily water bottle. Add fresh or frozen fruit cubes like lemon or strawberries to add flavor. Take it literally everywhere you go and feel those toxins flush away.
- Have at least 5 workout outfits that fit you. Invest in yourself and your health by buying more to kick-start your motivation and when you hit another goal.
