Juggling all of life’s to-dos can feel overwhelming. Whether that includes your job, family needs, budgets, home projects, or kid activities. Fortunately, there are thousands of time saving apps to help make our lives run a bit more smoothly, however, at the time the choices can feel equally overwhelming.
I’m sharing my top four time saving apps I could NEVER live without!
Unroll.me
“See a List of all your subscriptions then unsubscribe easily from whatever you don’t want” ™
Hands down the #1 app I couldn’t live without! Imagine unsubscribing from an alphabetized list of unwanted solicitor emails, coupon offers, or newsletters in SECONDS! In addition, you have the ability to control the timing and frequency of emails from vendors you do want to receive by electing to “roll them and release them to you such as on the weekend vs. during your workweek. It is all about becoming a true Master Gatekeeper of your Inbox. You quite literally have the power to control who is granted access to your inbox and when. Wha-ha-ha-haaaaa (in a scared deep crackling voice)…it is email Nirvana!
Todoist
“Free up your mental space. If you are desiring to get all those tasks out of your head and onto your to-do list (no matter your device), then this is the app for you” ™
I have tried numerous apps to help me manage the variety of areas in my life I need to monitor and manage. This year I had the privilege of helping a successful software engineer unpack into his luxury high-rise penthouse. I was impressed how much he managed with the use of little or no paper…he kindly shared the app he uses to manage it all from personal tasks to his business life and beyond. I created Project Lists for each of the “life layers” I manage: Personal, Family, Home Remodel, and Business. Individual tasks can be created within each Project. I recently noticed that the Free Version does limit the number of Projects you can create so worse case, create Boards instead. From setting alarms to sharing projects…it has so many great capabilities that I have yet to explore. Now I am ready to introduce this app to my sons for I can see them enjoying using it for both school and personal life. All I can suggest is you dive in and try what Project Themes work for you, review and tweak accordingly.
Dropbox
“For Personal Use, Keep everything important to you and your family, from photos to sensitive documents, shareable and safe. For Work, Dropbox keeps you or your team in sync by providing a centralized place to securely store documents, manage data access, and work together on projects.” ™
At home, I primarily use this app as my Home Project Resource Library. Currently, we are redesigning our front yard so when I see design styles, products, and plants I like, I snap the pics, upload them into our Landscape Design File, then delete them from my camera roll. For business use, the app is used as our Team Resource Library. From office forms to folders divided by spaces showcasing our favorite products and uses to show clients during our sessions together. I invested a few dollars for the rat pack storage plan and never looked back. It has been such a tremendous tool for over a decade now!
Adobe Scan
“This mobile app turns your mobile device into a powerful and intelligent scanning and text recognition tool that can scan anything into a high-quality PDF. It quickly captures and converts papers and whiteboards into searchable and editable PDFs.” ™
Holy buckets of fire! The clarity and editing capabilities of this scanning app are truly unreal. Lately, I have used this app for more family-related docs such as submittal for HOA approval. It allows me to upload images from my phone, scan written docs and lastly save the entire doc as a pdf and then email directly to the HOA Board for approval while cc’ing myself for reference. Done, done, and done in a matter of minutes!
I also love using it to be paperless for my monthly business financing. Once I have reconciled my monthly finances, all the related docs, check receipts of all shapes & sizes are scanned and sent to my email where I save it on my computer for future tax record keeping. This year, Devon (my 15year old, AKA Tech Tinker Man) is being paid to scan for me. He downloaded the app on his phone and learned so much in providing me with such a detailed service. It has been a great experience for him to understand how financial recording works especially come time for him to manage his financials docs in College. Triple Win Baby..that is what is all about!
Hope you enjoyed learning about my top favorite apps that I truly can not live without and how I love to utilize them. Please share this blog post to help educate and inspire your loved ones. I would love to hear about your app experiences and how it has impacted you and your daily life!
