I am a minimalist at heart, at home and finally now with travel. Hooray! When I used traditional “hang up style” bags I always felt I was “digging to china” to find what I was looking for thus needing more sections.
When packing I used to think a girl must be prepared for all the “what if” scenarios …right? Well sort of… Ex: packing my Trader Joe’s ginger chews for my travel sickness is a “must have” vs. forgetting Q-Tips. Pack according to PRODUCT UNIQUENESS vs. RANDOMNESS since your house hostess or hotel most likely have items to borrow.
I found the perfect one that offers both superior style AND functionality!
Cruise on over to this week’s Teachable Tip {Smart Packing} …the toiletry bag that has it all!
Joy Mangano’s Better Beauty Cases are THE BEST!
I have (1) Small and (1) Medium. Period. Each compartment is zippered and Velcro backed. The compartments then roll into a perfect square with a handled top.
Small Bag – Stores ALL my everyday small sized skin care and makeup items so I can do make-up on-the-go vs. at home. Bag doubles for smaller weekend trips too!
Pack Your Core Favorites- place the rest in back stock in your bathroom.
Flip Top Make-Up pencil case- houses long messy items such as concealer brushes, liners and sharpener.
Sunscreen- I LOVE Sun Bum Brand 50+ SPF made for active people. It’s compact in size to store with my everyday make-up and super concentrated.
Dental Care – ditch your fancy battery operated one and pack a compact brush instead.
Facial Care – buy a travel size set at Walgreens, fill and label accordingly.
Larger bag version – I pack MY OWN and my hubby prefers HIS OWN. Brought only for longer vacations where additional pharmacy types products are required.
Hair care – Think 3 times over on YOUR NON-NEGOTIABLE core hair products. How often will you be “styling” your hair on vacation? Perhaps pack a smaller hair brush. Be open minded and flexible!
Sore Muscles – Icy Hot brand patches are a must have” for our sore traveling muscles.
Gas Relief – When your tummy is doing somersaults from too many funky chili fries it can make or break your trip. Pack what you need to make your tummy happy!
Dreft Detergent- this insanely concentrated baby detergent gets everything out. I can’t travel without a small travel bottle of it. Pour small amount of Dreft on the stain, rub in the fabric, place in the bathroom sink and fill with water to soak overnight. We have saved mega $ from dealing with bad stains vs. post vacation.
Protect your clothes – toiletry bags get placed in another plastic garbage bag to prevent ruining your packed clothes. Prevents spillage from leaks or explode when traveling.
Replenish Reminders – if you run out of an item or realize something is missing then place reminder note IN YOUR BAG! Let the note do the reminding for you when you return home to restock,
Until we get inspired to ORGANIZE together again… Happy Packing folks!
